GHG emissions

FCC Construcción includes among its Management Targets for 2017–2020 the extension of the verification of the GHG emissions inventory to 100% of its business activity, both in Spain and abroad, in accordance with the standard ISO 14064-1.

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Measurement Protocol

In 2010, FCC's construction area implemented a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) measurement protocol, with the aim of quantifying and eventually reducing these emissions. This action promoted the adaptation of the Group's computer applications for the quantification and statistical treatment of these emissions, a fact that was recognized in the “Management for sustainable development” category of the XII edition of the European Environment Awards.

The measurement protocol, which follows the requirements established in the ISO 14064-1: 2012 standard and the ENCORD benchmark for the sector, received the “Built on GHG” seal by the GHG Protocol.

As a result of the application of this protocol, specific reports are prepared, verified and published annually, which include the GHG inventory of works and centers in the Group's construction area.
