Gabion wall contract awarded on the North-South link
RRC has begun works to rebuild the cutting located at km 4+850 on the IP7, which recently suffered a landslide.
The works were awarded by EP (Estradas de Portugal, S.A.) for a price of €87,577, as an emergency measure, with a tight completion scheduled of only 45 days, because of its location on one of the main roads in Lisbon and considering the traffic problems that would be caused by reducing the road to a single lane. The works include the removal of the earth that slipped (with a volume of 1,350 m3) and the building of a gabion wall backfilled with masonry and rockfill. In addition the lateral guttering will be rebuilt and the horizontal and vertical signage damaged in the landslide will be replaced.
