Bill Gates, through his investment funds, acquires 6% of FCC’s capital
According to a communication sent to the Spanish market supervisor, "one or more entities related" to the American billionaire William H. Gates III have acquired shares in the Spanish construction firm, previously held in FCC’s own portfolio, for a price per share of €14.865, totalling a gross value of €113,541,813.
Following this operation, FCC holds somewhat more than 242,000 own shares, equivalent to 0.19% of the company’s share capital.
With this acquisition, Bill Gates now becomes the firm’s second largest shareholder. Esther Koplowitz, Chairman of the Group, controls 53.9% of the firm. The banks Credit Suisse and The Royal Bank of Scotland are also leading shareholders of FCC, with 3.88% and 3.4%, respectively.
